Mr + Mrs Nicholas. I'm still processing this one! SO much goodness squeezed into one wedding day. The most epic venue with that East coast Tōrere magic, helicopters, dance offs, Koro slaying the dance floor, thunder and lightning, sandy toes, 4wd missions, those amazing emotional hakas I get to see at weddings, a bishop, motorbikes, kaimoana, those infamous caramilk donuts, and a cake the size of a small child. I left with a container full of desserts (Thanks Nicky Kerr!) and sore cheeks from laughing so much. A beautiful day for an incredibly kind and generous couple.

You encounter plenty of curve balls as a wedding photographer and that always means you have to be able to adapt to ever changing situations. That was the case for Sarah & David’s wedding day at blackwalnutvenue

Make up ran 2 hours behind schedule, the forecasted torrential rain arrived right on cue and the ceremony had to be moved inside and pushed back an hour while we waited for the tiktoks to be completed. These two were legends though and it was fitting it rained on their wedding day as every time we planned to meet up for their engagement shoot in the lead up to the big day we had rain. Cool as cucumbers these guys were, with great friends and fam who could of all been official bridesmaids and groomsman and even David’s mum rocking her sparkly pink number after dinner.
